Morgan
Hill, CA, 21 September, 2004 -- Acclaimed Surfabilly
band, Los High Tops will play the headline spot
at the 15th annual Taste of Morgan Hill, in Downtown
Morgan Hill, CA, on Saturday, September 25, 2004
at 4:15 pm at the Third Street Stage. Morgan Hill's
Chamber of Commerce expects over 50,000 fun-loving
attendees at the two-day event.
Los
High Tops gained national prominence by writing
and performing the music heard in Hotwire.com's
innovative series of nationally televised commercials,
currently in heavy rotation in North America. The
band plays primarily in the Bay area, including
Morgan Hill's Friday Night Music Series, at the
main stage at the Gilroy Garlic Festival and occasionally
performs in Los Angeles. Los High Tops has also
performed at the Rockabilly Hall of Fame show at
Viva Las Vegas #5 in 2002.
The
band frequently donates their time and talents to
help the local community. Highlights include Gilroy's
American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Morgan
Hill Gymnastic Club and Aquatic Center fundraising
events.
KFJC's
(89.7) FM Phil's Garage: Surf's Up with Phil Dirt
has featured Los High Tops' original surf music
on the radio. Los High Tops has also received airplay
of their original Rockabilly compositions on Vida
Lee's Juke Joint radio program on KKUP (91.5).
Surfabilly
combines Rockabilly, with Surf music and Jump Blues.
The sound evokes the early sound of Rock and Roll
- when Country first mixed with Blues, R&B,
Hillbilly, and other uniquely American music styles.
Many of the songs in Los High Tops repertoire are
original - but they all have a comfortable familiarity
- very much in keeping with the sounds of the 50's
and 60's.
The
15th annual Taste of Morgan Hill is a community
event to provide quality family entertainment and
celebration for the community and its visitors as
well as raise awareness and support to local businesses
and community service groups. The event assists
in raising funds to support the Morgan Hill Chamber
of Commerce to continue its many programs and community
service.
